Meet the Staff

Wade Spradley, DVM

Born in Cameron, OK, Dr. Spradley attended Oklahoma State University and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1985.  Dr. Spradley’s vast experience comes from working for several different practitioners all across the Southern United States.  He has practiced in Arkansas, Kentucky, two different thoroughbred racetracks in New Orleans, and a lameness practice in Houston, TX.  After returning to Oklahoma in 1995, he worked three years for a surgery referral practice, and the following seven years as a solo practitioner.  He is now a practitioner and owner of Legacy Equine Medical and Surgical Centre.  His equine medicine interests include lameness, surgery, and ophthalmology.  He is an active member of AAEP, AVMA, OVMA, and ISELP.  In his spare time he likes to hunt and fish, and he enjoys woodworking.  He was proudly honored with the title of Oklahoma's 2010 equine veterinarian of the year.

Matthew Klotz, DVM

Born in Emporium, KS, Dr. Klotz attended Oklahoma State University, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology in 1992, and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996.  Before starting Legacy Equine Centre, he worked nine years for a surgery referral practice as the staff surgeon.  He performed many emergency surgeries including colic surgery and caesarian sections.  He also performed many elective surgeries including arthroscopy, correction on angular limb deformities in foals, and internal fixation of fractures.  He left that practice to forge ahead in equine medical and surgical direction of his choice.  He is now a practitioner and owner of Legacy Equine Medical and Surgical Centre.  Dr. Klotz’s primary practice interests are sports medicine, lameness of performance horses, and diagnostic imaging.  His abilities for producing radiographic and ultrasound images are recognized by his peers for excellence.  Dr. Klotz has attended and completed ASIF basic and advanced courses in fracture repair.  He is an active member of AAEP, AVMA, OVMA, and ISELP.  In his spare time Dr. Klotz enjoys hunting, fishing, and shooting sporting clays.

Jenna Tallman – Barn Manager, Veterinary Assistant

Jenna was born in Tulsa, OK and raised in Claremore.  She was homeschooled and graduated at 16 years of age, and received her GED in December of 2008.  She is currently in the Tulsa Community College Veterinary Technology Program and is expected to graduate in May 2012 with a degree in Associates of Applied Science.  She has interest in furthering her education by becoming a Veterinarian Technician Specialist in anesthesiology and equine care.  Jenna has extensive experience in equestrian tack sales and horse handling, management, and care.  The basis of her horse knowledge and handling is due to Pony Club.  In her spare time she enjoys riding her horses, bow hunting, playing with her dogs, and spending time with friends and family.

Susie Guthrie – Receptionist

Susie has owned horses all her life and wouldn’t know what to do without them.  Her greatest joy in life is her family.  She has been married to her husband, Mike, for 23 years and they have 6 children.  She is very active in her church and stays busy with her kids’ sports and activities.  Susie has a background in the human medical field but feels blessed to be working with horses and people at the same time.  In her spare time, she enjoys going to barrel races.

Rachael Tucker – Veterinary Assistant

Rachael was born in Tulsa, OK and raised nearby on a Thoroughbred racehorse farm.  As a result, she grew up totally immersed in the horse industry.  With a base of education starting with Pony Club, she continued on with her experiences with all disciplines, but with special interest in dressage sport horses and young horse development.  Rachael has extensive experience with stallions, young horses, and all aspects of horse management and care, especially enjoying the individual connections that develop with special horses.  In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses for clients, spending time with her dogs and cat, as well as her family and friends.



Somer Hartman – Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Somer was raised by her mom in Jamestown, North Dakota with her younger sister and various cats, dogs, and exotic small animals, and has been riding horses all of her life.  She also spent many summers with her dad in southeastern Arizona.  Somer received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology from the University of North Dakota.  Following graduation she worked as a biologist for three years.  She returned to school to attend Colorado Mountain College and was awarded an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology.  In her spare time she enjoys hiking, reading, camping, kayaking, practicing yoga, traveling, spending time with her family, team penning and sorting or working cattle.



Nancy Leslie – Accountant (M.B.A. CFO)

Nancy lives outside of the Tulsa area.  She has owned and been around horses for many years.  Nancy is a seasoned accountant, manager and financial M.B.A. strategist offering more than 30 years of experience in performing all aspects of business accounting.  She holds an M.B.A. from the University of Tulsa, a B.S. in accounting from Southwestern State University, and an Associates Computer Specialists in Business Micro Applications Degree.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her two children.



Shawna Keizor – Volunteer

Shawna was born in Garland, TX and raised in Oklahoma.  She discovered her fearless love for horses before she learned to walk.  By the age of five she began riding lessons in both English and Western disciplines, and got her first horse when she was eight.  Shawna owns a small farm with eight horses outside of Tulsa, which she named Willow’s Acres.  She is married to firefighter husband, Tracy, and has a teenage daughter, Gracie.  She also has a part-time business giving riding lessons to children.  In her spare time Shawna enjoys barrel racing, team penning, and trail riding with her daughter.
