Wade Spradley, DVM

Wade SpradleyBorn in Cameron, OK, Dr. Spradley attended Oklahoma State University and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1985.  Dr Spradley’s vast experience comes from working for several different practitioners all across the southern United States.  He has practiced in Arkansas, Kentucky, New Orleans at two different thoroughbred racetracks, and a lameness practice in Houston, TX.  After returning to Oklahoma in 1995, he worked three years for a surgery referral practice and the past seven years as a solo practitioner.  He is now a practitioner and owner of Legacy Equine Medical and Surgical Centre. His equine medicine interests include lameness, surgery, and ophthalmology. He is an active member of AAEP, AVMA, OVMA, AND ISELP. In his spare time he likes to hunt and fish, and he enjoys woodworking.

Matthew Klotz, DVM

Wade SpradleyBorn in Emporia, KS, Dr Klotz attended Oklahoma State University, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology in 1992, and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996. Before starting Legacy Equine Centre, he worked nine years for a surgery referral practice as the staff surgeon.  He performed many emergency surgeries including colic surgery and Caesarian sections.  He also performed many elective surgeries including arthroscopy, correction of angular and flexural limb deformities in foals, and internal fixation of fractures.  He left that practice to forge ahead in the equine medical and surgical direction of his choice.  He is now a practitioner and owner of Legacy Equine Medical and Surgical Centre.  Dr Klotz’s primary practice interests are sports medicine, lameness of performance horses and diagnostic imaging.  His abilities for producing radiographic and ultrasound images are recognized by his peers for excellence.  Dr Klotz has attended and completed the ASIF basic and advanced courses in fracture repair. He is an active member of AAEP, AVMA, OVMA, AND ISELP. In his spare time, Dr Klotz enjoys hunting, fishing, and shooting sporting clays.

Crystal Christman, DVM

Dr. Christman received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan, Western College of Veterinary Medicine. She comes from an equine referral hospital and has experience with hunter/jumper, racetrack, and western performance horses. Her primary interests include performance and corrective dentistry, geriatric medicine, and performance horse lameness. She and her husband recently relocated to Oklahoma from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In their spare time, they raise and train AQHA horses for ranch work, team roping and barrel racing.

Cortney Henderson, DVM, MS

Dr. Henderson joined the Legacy team in July 2008 from an equine hospital in North Texas where he was the Staff Surgeon. At this facility, he managed all orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures and performed all lameness exams, diagnostics, and treatments. He graduated from Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 and completed an internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY. In the Fall of 2003, he began a three year equine surgery residency at the Marion DuPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, Virginia. At this facility, Dr. Henderson received sound surgical training and became very proficient in both elective and emergency equine surgical procedures and lameness. He also obtained a Master of Science Degree during this time from Virginia Tech University while conducting research in equine laryngeal MRI and equine upper airway functional disorders. Dr. Henderson has worked with many disciplines of horses and has a special interest in equine surgery, lameness and equine sports medicine. Dr. Henderson is currently a board eligible surgeon and will obtain ACVS board certification after completion of the exam in February 2009.

Tresa Lackey - Office Manager

Tresa grew up in Northwestern Oklahoma west of Fairview on a cattle ranch and has been around horses her whole life. She has a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science Biotechnology with a minor in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University. She and her husband have lived in the Tulsa area since 1996. In her spare time she enjoys working with her horses, team roping & helping her husband with their commercial cattle operation.

Shannon Olson - Veterinarian Technician

Shannon grew up in Sperry, OK and graduated from Sperry High School in 1993. She continued her education at NEO in Miami, OK graduating with an Associate in Animal Science. Shannon spent the next 11 years working for WorldCom and Williams Communications before continuing her education in veterinary medicine. She graduated with an Associate in Applied Science, Veterinary Technology from TCC in May 2008. Shannon was raised with horses her whole life, and in her spare time enjoys working with horses, running barrels, and spending time with her husband and friends.

Jenna Tallman - Barn Manager

Jenna was born and raised in Claremore, OK. She was home schooled and graduated at 16 years of age. She has extensive experience in equestrian tack sales and horse care. She enjoys spending time training her horses and playing with her dogs.
